Parkside’s Jonathan Ah-weng was honoured to be the only Hong Kong barrister invited as a trainer in the 5 day residential South Eastern Circuit, Tim Dutton CBE KC, Advanced International Advocacy Course held at Keble College, Oxford.  The faculty comprise a distinguished array of senior barristers, King’s Counsel, judges, and Senior Counsel from the UK and the Commonwealth.

The course was led by Sarah Clarke KC and has an esteemed legacy dating back over 30 years.

Considered the benchmark for advanced advocacy training at the English Bar and internationally, this annual course (held in August each year) challenges practising barristers (min. 7 years qualified) to fine-tune their advocacy skills, and participate in a wide spectrum of exercises from written and oral advocacy to handling expert witnesses. The intensive training culminated in mock trials enabling them to cement everything they had learned over the week.

Hailing from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Africa, and Hong Kong, the faculty and participants converged to share global perspectives which fostered collaboration and lasting friendships.
