Wayne Walsh S.C. delivered a rousing presentation at the LeglPlus Asia Forum: Arbitration & Competition Law Summit event which took place on 31 July 2024.
Wayne’s panel deliberated on China & Hong Kong Outbound Investments Risks, Technology’s Role (Good & Bad) and Internal Investigations. The panel was made up of Howard Chan of Fangda Partners, Susan Munro of K&L Gates and the session was moderated by Dorothy Siron of Stephenson Harwood.
Energising the room with a stirring Top 15 list of the Good Bad and the Ugly facets of AI in the context of investigations, Wayne provided a compelling overview.
In an animated summary, Wayne discussed the fact that AI could enhance investigative efficiency, improve data analysis and reduce costs. However, he was more circumspect about the ethical considerations that AI could give rise to and talked about the importance of human oversight and the risks associated with sole reliance on AI.
In a well attended event with about 80 attendees, the day wrapped up with a small but mighty cocktail where both the speakers and the attendees were easily able to mingle and banter.
