The Air Pollution Control Appeal Board dismissed an appeal against a decision of the Director of Environmental Protection rejecting the Appellant’s application for a renewal of a specified process licence for a concrete batching plant at Yau Tong

After an 8-day appeal, on 22 November 2023, the Air Pollution Control Appeal Board dismissed an appeal against the decision of the Director of Environmental Protection rejecting the application of the Appellant, China Concrete Company Limited, for a renewal of a specified process licence for a concrete batching plant at Yau Tong. The appeal involved extensive specialist evidence on air quality control and related policy-making in Hong Kong.

Ms Deanna Law acted for the Director of Environmental Protection in the aforesaid appeal. The Appellant was represented by Mr Rimsky Yuen SC, Mr Anthony Chan SC, and Mr Enzo Chow.
