On Monday, 19th May, Parkside’s Ernest Ng and Raphael Leung presented an illuminating CPD accredited seminar at Charles Russell Speechlys in front of about 25 attendees.
Speaking on Cross Border Enforcement in Private Wealth Planning, Ernest and Raphael covered the challenges associated with enforcing foreign wills in HK. They also highlighted the importance of avoiding general cross-revocation clauses in multi-jurisdictional estate planning, and ring-fencing foreign wealth from unintended disposition compelled by local law and regulations. They subsequently shared their experiences in cross-border tracing exercises in probate and matrimonial contexts.
It was an enlightening and topical presentation prefaced by a delicious lunch.
