Parkside’s Deanna Law recently appeared on behalf of a defendant medical doctor facing two disciplinary charges in the Medical Council, arising from the alleged premature replacement of insulin therapy with oral antidiabetic drugs in a patient with chronic kidney disease. After the close of the case for the Secretary for the Medical Council, the Inquiry Panel, chaired by Professor Fok Tai Fai, a renowned specialist in Paediatrics, accepted the defence’s submissions that there was no case to answer on both charges. Both charges were dismissed with the practitioner acquitted.
Deanna appears regularly in medical negligence matters before the Courts and the Medical Council, spanning disciplinary, civil and criminal cases.
