Parkside hosted a celebratory dinner at the Hong Kong Club in recognition of The Hon Mr Justice Anthony Chan’s appointment as Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal.
Formerly a prominent Senior Counsel at Parkside, Mr Justice Chan was appointed Senior Counsel in 2003, served as Recorder from 2006 to 2012, and became a Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2012. His latest appointment is a fitting tribute to his standout contributions to the law and the Judiciary.
The evening, organised primarily by Parkside’s Robin Egerton was filled with warmth, laughter, and heartfelt speeches — including memorable remarks from several members of Chambers, including Head of Chambers, Wayne Walsh SC, Benson Tsoi SC, Walker Sham, Bernard Mak, an impromptu speech by Nigel Kat SC and a memorable speech by Mr Justice Chan himself.
We were also delighted to be joined by a number of former members of Parkside including The Hon Mr Justice Herbert Au-Yeung, His Honour Judge Jonathan Wong, and Her Honour Judge Phillis Loh, including former member of Parkside and current Secretary for Justice, Paul Lam GBS, SBS, JP, SC making the occasion all the more notable.
