Chak Kei is a Bar Scholar. He is joining Parkside Chambers after completing his pupillage with Mr. Martin Wong (now Mr Martin Wong SC), Mr. Ernest Ng, Ms. Isabel Tam, Mr. Randy Shek, and Mr. Bernard Mak.
Chak Kei undertook his LLB (Bachelor of Laws) at the University College London (UCL), for which he was awarded the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence, where he attained 1st Class Honours. He then attained his PCLL at the University of Hong Kong. After, he completed an LLM (Master of Laws), with 1st Class Honours, at the University of Cambridge, during which he was awarded with the Faculty of Law Prize for Best Performance in International Law, Climate Change, and the Environment.
Before beginning his pupillage, Chak Kei served as a Judicial Assistant at the Court of Final Appeal.
Chak Kei is a seasoned mooter, having achieved a plethora of awards at international mooting competitions. Representing UCL at the 2021 Philip C Jessup International Moot, Chak was awarded the Hardy C. Dillard Award for top 5 memorials at the International Rounds. Representing HKU at the 2022 Philip C Jessup International Moot, Chak was ranked 3rd Best Oralist at the International Rounds. Representing Cambridge at the 2024 Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot, Chak secured the championship at the European Rounds and was also awarded as the 2nd Best Oralist at the European Rounds.
Chak Kei is developing a broad practice and accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers work.
